Zihuatanejo Activities
THINGS TO DO LOCALLY
There are a myriad of activities near our Zihuatanejo beach condominium in Ixtapa: Tennis, Golf, snorkeling, diving, surfing, jet skiing fishing, parasailing and fishing.
Of course eating out is just
one of the favorite pastimes here in Zihuatanejo but there is so much
more. If you can tear yourselves away from the luxurious life in our
condo at La Casa Que Ve al Mar, there are more entertainment venues
here than you would ever imagine. Golf and tennis at Palma
Real Golf & Tennis Club, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. designed
18 hole-par 72 course in Ixtapa is just 15 minutes away by taxi. Next
door is the newest Marina Ixtapa Golf Course, another 18 hole-par
72 course designed by Robert Von Hagge. Both facilities boast added
entertainment venues along with alligators cruising the water hazards!
Ah.......so you are a diver!
We can deliver some of the most exciting diving experiences this side of Belize. Or maybe you are just up to
a little snorkeling out on Ixtapa Island which is accessible by bus and water taxi for
just a few dollars.
Tennis anyone? The courts
at The Tides
just minutes away on foot, can be rented by non-guests for a modest sum - same day reservations only. While the “girls”
are batting a few ball around down at the courts, the guys might want
to get out on the water and do a little fishing.
Zihuatanejo is home to the most famous bill fishing tournament south
of the border. Besides the bills there are dorado, gruper, roosterfish,
yellowfin tuna, bonito, and barracuda just to name a few.
So you managed to stow your
surf
board aboard the plane? We’ve got just the place for you
to hang ten. While the surf is typically pretty benign in
Bahia Zihuatanejo, just to the north, there is plenty of great action
for you to test your skills and in water where you can leave your
wet suit at home!
Some people just can’t
stand some of these high tension, heart pounding activities so how
about a little cruise on the lagoon
just south of town in kayaks with a guide. Here in Barra de Pótosi
you will have the opportunity to experience eco-tourism at its best
and at a pace that will get you plenty relaxed and ready for a nice
cold drink under the palapa on the beach. All this is accessible on
buses that run out of “centro” on a frequent basis and
for just a few pesos.
And of course we have parasailing,
water skiing, banana boating, skidoos, lots of music and night life!
